Welcome to LSEC, an internationally renowned Information security cluster, a not for profit organization that has the objective to promote Information Security and the expertise in BeNeLux and Europe. Founded by the University of Leuven (K.U. Leuven), supported by European Commission FP7 and leading a unique PAN European Private partnership that interacts with Public Institutions, LSEC connects security industry experts, research institutes and universities, government agencies, end users, funding bodies and technical experts who are driving national and European research agendas. LSEC activities aim to raise cyber security awareness, support innovation and competitiveness of the European IT- Security market and promote the visibility of its members.

COSIC (Computer Security and Industrial Cryptography) is a research group in the Department of Electrical Engineering-ESAT of the K.U.Leuven. Since more than 20 years, COSIC performs research on the design, evaluation, and implementation of cryptographic algorithms and protocols, and on the development of secure solutions for applications such as e-payment, e-voting, anonymous browsing. COSIC is well known for its design contributions to the AES algorithm (Rijndael).

The researchers in COSIC work on innovative solutions for the security problems of the next decade: innovative cryptographic algorithms, mobile devices, identity management and privacy. This fundamental research is complemented with an intensive collaboration with industry and government under the form of joint projects, consulting, and training activities.
DistriNet is one of the research groups of the department of computer science of the K.U.Leuven. Its domain of expertise is the development of open, distributed object support platforms for advanced applications, using state of the art software technology. The research is always application driven and is often conducted in collaboration with industry. The applications considered include Internet applications, embedded applications and agent-based systems.

Each of these types of applications has strong security requirements. The Distrinet security workgroup focuses on these issues, and is active in education, research and consultancy in security. The main areas of expertise include secure software engineering, mobile code security, anonymity and privacy, and cryptographic protocols.
ICRI is a research centre within the Faculty of Law on the K.U. Leuven. It comprises three research teams:
