Welcome to LSEC, an internationally renowned Information security cluster, a not for profit organization that has the objective to promote Information Security and the expertise in BeNeLux and Europe. Founded by the University of Leuven (K.U. SecurIT, one of the LSEC Core Expert members and participant to the recent LSEC Innovation Booths ath the FIC 2015 and Infosecurity.be tradeshows, has been selected as a Finalist for Red Herring's Top 100 Europe award, a prestigious list honoring the year’s most promising private technology ventures from the European business region.
The Red Herring editorial team selected the most innovative companies from a pool of hundreds from across Europe. The nominees are evaluated on 20 main quantitative and qualitative criterion: they include disruptive impact, market footprint, proof of concept, financial performance, technology innovation, social value, quality of management, execution of strategy, and integration into their respective industries.
3IF stands for “Industrial Internet In Flanders”. During 2015 throughout 2019, LSEC and SIRRIS as main project partners will be developing a series of activities to support Manufacturing Companies, Integrators, Technology Providers, System Integrators, Security Companies and Innovators; in developing and integrating Internet of Things, Smart Sensors in Industrial Environments; supporting new business opportunities, identifying and mitigating challenges and positioning Flanders internationally.

Cyber Security Challenge 2015. Are you up for it?
The Cyber Security Challenge 2015 is organized by a number of LSEC members, a new initiative to raise awareness of students on Cyber Security and motivate young talents to embrace a career in Cyber Security. This capture the flag challenge is supported by LSEC.
The country-wide cyber security competition targeting students that are about to complete their education is supported by virtually every major academic institution in the country, such as the KU Leuven, ULB, Howest, UCL, UGent, UAntwerpen, UNamur, ULg, … The event is organized by NVISO and supported by BNP Paribas Fortis, KBC, LSEC and a number of organizations active in the promotion of cyber-security in Belgium.

European researchers, ICT Security professionals and industry, supported by the European Commission to honour those making an impact in Privacy and Cyber Security
Europe's most innovative and forward-thinking researchers and entrepreneurs gathered in Brussels on 23 October 2014, recognising those who are bolstering Europe's cyber security landscape.
The awards are the brainchild of an EU-supported research project, named Innovation Framework for Privacy and Cyber Security Market Opportunities (IPACSO). LSEC is a member of this consortium, which comprises a diverse range of industry, academic, R&D and policy-making experts collaborating to build a faster, more effective and efficient road-to-market landscape for cyber security entrepreneurs.

October 23rd , the first European Cyber Security & Privacy Innovation Awards will take place in Belgium. With these Awards, the IPACSO consortium, supported by the European Commission, awards Privacy and Cyber Security Innovators in Europe.
