Press Release: European Research Agenda and Recommendations for the European Commission

In 2012, LSEC together with AMETIC (Spain), ADS Group (UK), Cybernetica (Estonia), NSMC - Network Security Monitoring Cluster (Czech Republic) and TeleTrusT – IFIS (Germany), started the organization of the European analysis of the cyber security landscape, for the European Commission.

The FIRE- project helps researchers understand Industry IT- security needs, and helps Industry access the IT- security research that they need. A key part of the project is to get an Industry view of what EU funded research should be focusing on.

FIRE recently issued a Research Agenda, which includes research topics, identifying suggested areas of research that address the main research needs of users. These topics have been validated by the FIRE Advisory Board and at regional validation workshops with over 150 stakeholders from industry, research and administration. A total of 38 research topics meriting EC research funding support have been identified, that address six broad categories of user research need across the Energy, Finance, Health, Government, and Mobile Communications sectors.
