To facilitate and ensure open discussions (Chatham House Rules), attendance is restricted to cyber security professionals, enterprise incident management, CERT and CSIRT-teams, LSEC Core and Individual Expert Members (information security experts and researchers and academic personnel). Participants of ISACs (Sharing Information Sharing and Analysis Centers), CISO's and security experts representing Critical Infrastructure and Vital Sectors, or Governmental institutions or operators are welcome.

2018 Topics:

• Cross- company Intel Sharing, practical and cultural challenges & solutions
• From Cyber Threat Intelligence to Situational Awareness
• CTI in practice, platforms and use cases
• Open Standards and platforms For Threat & Malware Information Sharing
• Cyber Threat Intelligence Maturity Model – Building the right capabilities

Session Materials:

Materials are now available for download. Attending to the event was free, but we charge a minor fee for the materials in order to ensure some income for the organization. As a non-profit organization, due to tax reasons, a small charge is asked to cater for the incurred costs. You will be transferred to Payloadz.com and be asked to pay for 121 € (100 € excl, 21% VAT). You will be able to receive an invoice if you leave your company details and PO number. Once paid, you will receive a downloadlink to download the .zip with all materials.

LSEC continues to support creating awareness on information security, will try to lower the barrier for ict security professionals. With this mechanism, all attendees have evaluated the value of the presented materials and can easily contribute to the future activities.

Agenda:

• 09.30 Ulrich Seldeslachts, CEO of LSEC

2018 Cyber Security in preview

• 09.45 Dr Tilman Frosch, CEO of G DATA Advanced Analytics

Dr. Frosch is the CEO of G DATA Advanced Analytics, the services and advisory part of G DATA, a European Cybersecurity treasure that has been active for the last 3 decades in Information Security. Dr Frosch is an experienced cyber security expert, having done multiple interesting investigations and involved in the reverse engineering of malwares. As a first time keynote to the LSEC CTI-events, Tilman will impress as a knowledgeable down to earth and visionary Cyber Security expert to follow.

• 10.35 Alexandre Picard [FR], CTI Manager at Airbus – Airbus CERT

Airbus Cybersecurity has a long lasting experience in fighting APTs. Ensuring efficient protection against those sophisticated attacks is not only about IOC deployment in security products. Instead, targets need to understand what the attacker is looking for (motivations) and how it will act on the IT to reach its goal (Technics, Tactics and Procedures). We believe there is a gap in capitalising and leveraging those “less technical” information (motivations, TTP, preferred targets etc…).

For the CTI Conf 2018, our vision of the CTI challenges and how we have faced them:
- Advanced Threat modeling including technical and contextual information
- Ensure alignment of every stakeholder involved in the cyber security of an organisation (from Board members to security teams)
- Leverage knowledge of attacker’s TTP to adapt protection strategy

• 11.25: Wim Hafkamp, Chief Information Security Officer at Rabobank

Cyber Security operations experiences within Rabobank.

• 12.15: Resilient Systems [‘confirmed’]: Preparing for the inevitable breach: Detection and response automation

• 12.55: Lunch

• 13.45: Turbocharge your security operations, by Burak Daioglu - CEO from ATARLabs

Automating cybersecurity investations and incidents, mitigation and recovery. ATARLabs is a spinoff and innovative Cybersecurity company from Turkey, a rising star in the European Cybersecurity landscape.

• 14.30: Gerard Wagener from CIRCL [Computer Incident Response Center Luxembourg] and team member MISP Project

The MISP has over 750 installations and is continuously expanding. Some operational experiences and how MISP could serve SOC operations and Cyber Threat Intelligence and Incident Management. Basic considerations for sharing and the future developments of MISP in view of Open C2 and other sharing mechanism.

• 15.20: David van Damme & Martin Ohl from McAfee - Future Proofing Security Operations

Automation and Integration are not just buzz words, they are fundamental requirements for effective cyber security today. However, most cybersecurity environments are a patchwork of products accumulated and implemented over many years. This patchwork impedes fast threat response. However, security architecture to the rescue.  This session will examine a reference architecture that enables automated threat hunting and incident response using OpenDXL, Threat Intelligence and Orchestration tools that combine to improve Sec Ops response time dramatically. The participants will learn how McAfee, Partner and Open Source technology work together as a system to automate and orchestrate intelligence-driven security operations.

• 16.00: Closing words, next steps, discussion

• 16.15 : Networking & closing coffee break

Level of Expertise: Advanced

• Enterprise CISO’s / Security Managers
• Critical Infrastructure
• NIS Directive "Significant Market Operators"
