End Point Security: 'Shifting to endpoint intelligence'

Mobility, cloud computing and an increasing mobile device threat landscape are creating a significant need for endpoint security that is tight and right. And as more devices move outside of the enterprise walls, endpoint security is poised to eclipse network security, in locking down the endpoint device.

A couple of years ago, the concerns with laptops and USB-sticks travelling around proved to be right, because they led to significant loss of data. The tremendous oportunity of smartphones and tablets, have temporarily moved the attention to mobile devices. Today, the increased volume and potential impact of advanced threats will affect all of the above. Endpoint security was relatively straightforward when the primary endpoint was a static PC. Also there is a lot of misconception on the definition of the 'End Point', that goes far beyond a smartphone or PC!

But what is the best approach in a world where different devices, operating systems and applications are too numerous to count? There is a shift ongoing to let go of intelligence inside the network. Shifting to endpoint intelligence could be more effective, and probably less costly. This shift can also help organizations immediately identify if information has been compromised.

Preliminary Agenda

With a collection of solutions by various vendors and integrators, LSEC aims to provide an insight into the various solutions and options available today, and indicating complementary view and perspectives for different applications. This seminar will slice through the hyperbole and cover all you need to know about a proper protection of your organization against current and future threats: The definition of an 'End Point' ; protection in the context of Enterprise Security & Security Strategy, Secure Endpoint Life Cycle Management from deployment to hardening, monitoring and managing endpoints, to decommissioning...and more!

12:30h: Welcome and coffee

13:00h: End Point Security, the shift to end point intelligence - Introduction by Ulrich Seldeslachts, CEO of LSEC Leaders in Security

13:30h: 'Data on the move' - Jurgen de Poorter, Sales Engineer Trend Micro

At this time "big data" & data "on the move" are hot topics. In combination with these factors mobile devices such as Iphones, tablets and laptops are more and more used by employees. Some company's even allow employees to use their own devices. In our 40 minute presentation we will give you an overview of the past, now a day's and  future threats. And the way in which we believe we can provide you with proper security matters that enable you to use these kind of devices.

About Jurgen: Jurgen de Poorter has more than 10 years' experience in the "security market", of which the last 10 years for Sophos and Trend Micro. At Trend Micro, Jurgen advises partners and internal sales in complex security solution matters and hosts presentations and Proof of Concepts.

14:10h: Endpoint 360° - Johan Celis, SAGA Infrastructure & Security Solutions

Endpoint security is much more then installing an AntiVirus client. In this presentation we bring you a 360 degree view on secure endpoint lifecycle management with real-life examples: from the initial deployment to hardening and securing the OS and applications, monitoring and managing the endpoints, to decommissioning.

About Johan: Johan has more then 20 years of experience in IT, of which the last 15 years in different security consulting and management roles for SAGA, IBM and Symantec. He provides management consultancy about the changing threat landscape with a focus on infrastructure security

15:00h-15:30h: Coffee break

15:30h-16:00h: 'End Point Protection' -in the context of Enterprise Security - Marcel Snippe, RSA - the security division of EMC
'Is the current endpoint protection good enough to protect the enterprise?'

More and more enterprises are targeted by advanced attacks. Traditional perimeter and endpoint security are not protecting the enterprise. RSA will present how companies can make advance attacks visible both on the perimeter as on the endpoint to ensure a proper quick response and mitigating the overall risk for the company.

About Marcel: Marcel Snippe is pre-sales manager EMEA North at RSA. Marcel and his team helps the world's leading organizations solve their most complex and sensitive security challenges: managing organizational risk, safeguarding mobile access and collaboration, preventing online fraud, and defending against advanced threats.

(This presentation was last minute cancelled due to some unexpected challenges.)

16:00h- 16:40h: The reality of advanced malware and targeted attacks & next generation endpoint protection - Sebastiaan Bäck, Senior Pre- Sales Strategist at McAfee

The threat landscape has changed significantly in the last few year. Our defence systems have not. What does advanced malware look like and how is it used in targeted attacks. Traditional security approaches fail, but what to do then? How do you approach the advanced threats of today? What tools could assist in building a better defence strategy? During this session you will hear about the techniques the attackers and malware creators are using to penetrate your defence systems. Understanding their strategy will give you insight into possible solutions and an approach to mitigate risks. Learn how Next Generation Endpoint Security can help and how sharing contextual events cross vendor will lead to the better defence strategy.

16:40h - 17:00h: Panel discussion
